Guernsey Rocks
Today I began a new pastel painting - something a bit different for me. I was captivated by the light hitting the rocks as I rounded the corner of Pembroke bay in Guernsey.
Inspired by the pastel workshop I took recently I decided to get out of my comfort zone, work on a 'slightly' larger format and also involve a bit of media to the mix. I started by applying a sand coloured primer to mounting board then drawing the rock formation with a brush and Quink ink.

I then added a clear acrylic gesso to the board to give it some texture before applying soft pastels on top.
